Profile
We are an innovative adult hockey league created by a sports association almost twenty years old: the Hockey Brotherhood. The latter brings together amateur players, including several childhood and long-time friends who wish to play competitive but clean and friendly hockey. WHO IS IT?
From the original four teams in the inaugural season, the LFA now has 16 teams (soon to be 32) in winter and 24 for its summer season, with eight divisions and a growing number of over 1000 members, all aged between 20 and 60. For residents of Montreal and the greater metropolitan area, the pool of players varies greatly in terms of their education, work, and lifestyle habits, but they all enjoy the camaraderie, the feeling of belonging, and the community that we find in our hockey league. The emphasis is on the quality of people and not just their ability as players.
WHEN IS IT?
Games take place five days a week (soon 7/7). A variety of other games can take place during the year, such as our Winter Classic, the All-Star game, and exhibition games against other leagues or foreign teams. Our all-star team represents the league by participating in local and international tournaments. Some of our parties help non-profit organizations raise funds, as we did for the Canadian Children’s Foundation, Sun Youth, and Procure, to name a few.
WHAT ARE ITS OBJECTIVES?
Consolidate its status as a benchmark for adult hockey in Quebec and around the world through targeted expansion with partners who want to make a difference in their community while offering an optimal hockey experience to their members thanks to professional and equitable management for all the participants. With enough divisions of the same caliber across the province, the LFA Cup could become the trophy for which each winner of the different divisions will play to win the ultimate honor, which is undoubtedly the most beautiful amateur sports trophy in the world, in a way the holy grail for anyone who has dreamed of one day playing professionally. We also plan to create an international tournament and possibly build a multi-functional sports complex.
