Profile
The KCWHL is a grassroots organization, created by and for women who love playing ice hockey in the Kansas City area. Our goal is to provide opportunities for women and girls to learn and enjoy the game in a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.
More than a hockey league, we are a community of women dedicated to creating a strong sense of team unity, both on and off the ice. We aim to increase the number of female athletes enjoying ice hockey throughout the greater Kansas City area.
Our mission is to make hockey accessible and affordable to any woman who wants to play.
Yes! Our league has players at all ages and all skill levels: first-time skaters, former college players, and everything in between. We’re proud of our supportive, friendly culture – regardless of your experience level, you’re guaranteed to have a lot of fun and get a little bit better each time you skate.
Yes. Our long-term vision is to recruit and retain enough players to form Tier I and Tier II teams. We’re not quite there yet, so our practices and games currently include a mix of skill levels from beginners to former college players. Your experience and participation will help us grow women’s hockey in Kansas City, so we hope you will join us.
