Profile
The Chicagoland Roy Hobbs Baseball League is located in the Chicago area south suburbs and is the oldest men’s baseball league in the area. We provide adult players with an opportunity to play baseball with other players in their own age group and skill level.
Our mission statement is simple. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for men 25 and over to play hard, competitive baseball.
The Chicagoland Roy Hobbs Baseball League, which was founded in 1989, is for ball-players of all skill levels who are seeking an alternative to softball. The CRHBL provides the best possible adult amateur, competitive baseball experience while enjoying playing America’s favorite pastime we all enjoyed as kids growing up. It doesn’t matter what your skill level is or whatever your age is because we strive to offer parity among all our different age groups.
The four (4) age groups are 25+, 45+, 50+ and 60+.
The CRHBL is affiliated with the International Roy Hobbs Baseball League, which is the premier amateur baseball league for adults in the United States and internationally.
In April 1989, the CRHBL began its first season with eight teams playing in the 30 and over league. By 1994, the CRHBL 30 and over league had expanded to 14 teams.
From there, the CRHBL has continued to expand to become one of the largest Men’s senior baseball leagues in the Chicagoland area. In 2020, the CRHBL celebrated its 31st anniversary.
Aside from age eligibility, there are no rules preventing a player from joining a team in any of the four age divisions. It all depends on the player’s skill and comfort level on the field.
Most games are played on baseball diamonds in the Chicago area’s south suburbs. The fields that we use include Eisenhower HS, Pacetti Field in Oak Lawn, Minas Field in Midlothian, Oak Forest Shooter Field, Veterans Field in Westmont, Gouwens Field in South Holland, and Lincolnway North HS in Frankfort.
Our baseball season generally starts the last weekend of April and continues through the month of mid-September. All teams compete in playoff brackets held in late September.
We provide the opportunity to play baseball with and against your contemporaries. If you love the game of baseball, you no longer have to stop playing or retreat to softball once your high school, college or pro career has ended.
The CHICAGOLAND ROY HOBBS BASEBALL LEAGUE is always looking for new players or teams.
