Albany Empire Soccer Club provides an opportunity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, Non-binary, and Allies individuals to learn and improve their soccer skills in a congenial, yet competitive environment.
Currently, we practice on the weekends and have coed, women’s, and men’s soccer teams that play locally in a competitive indoor adult soccer league. However, we are always working to expand our group’s membership.
If you’re an experienced soccer player or someone willing and wanting to learn how to play, we welcome you.
Albany Empire Soccer Club was established in 2010 as New York Capital Region’s premier LGBTQ+ friendly soccer club. In 2014 we gained our 501c3 status and continues to operate at the local, regional, and national levels to bolster an inclusive and competitive environment for individuals to play, learn, and improve their soccer skills, all while fostering a healthy athletic and social outlet for the greater LGBTQ+ community. Our vision is to be the leading example of a vibrant LGBTQ+ friendly athletic club. We play locally in a competitive indoor adult league hosted by Afrim’s Sports. The team also scrimmages other gay-friendly soccer clubs and travels to other LGBT soccer tournaments all over the country. We are always looking to expand the group’s membership. Whether you’ve played soccer for years or looking to learn how to play soccer for the first time, we want to meet you!
