Profile
Ever since the very first game in 1988, the League has strived to provide the best in facilities, officials, and equipment. Even more important, the league has strived to bring back the true meaning of baseball: Enjoyment.
The BAMSBL consists of 18+, 35+ and 50+ divisions. Teams are located throughout the Bay Area, including the East Bay, the Peninsula, San Francisco, and Marin. There are approximately 24 teams in the league and almost 400 players.
The BAMSBL (and all of its players) are members of a national organization called the “Men’s Senior Baseball League/Men’s Adult Baseball League” which consists of over 3,000 teams nationwide. The MSBL/MABL has been around for three decades and is considered the premier adult baseball organization in the United States. The National season is capped off with a fall season World Series held in Phoenix, AZ, which brings the best players across the country together to play in the spring training facilities of major league teams.
Teams play a 16-game regular season schedule followed by playoffs and a championship series for the top teams. There are also All-Star games and opportunities to play on tournament teams, including teams that play in the MSBL/MABL World Series in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and Florida.
Games are played on weekends beginning in April. Tryouts are usually held in mid-February to early March. Players need to participate in at least one workout where they are given the opportunity to display their talent at the position(s) of their choice. All players who would like to pitch or catch during the season are required to workout at that position to be eligible to pitch or catch during the season.
The BAMSBL is a league for everyone who loves hardball baseball, regardless of skill level. Everyone who is interested in playing is encouraged to participate. More than anything else, the Bay Area Men’s Senior Baseball League is a place for fun.
