The Berks Senior Softball League strives to promote a sense of friendly competition while fostering lifelong friendships among its members.
This co-ed league prioritizes safety, with specific rules in place to minimize the risk of injuries during games. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate, although those who have difficulty catching a softball may be required to take a safety test before joining.
Berks Senior Softball Inc. is a non-profit organization recognized by the IRS under 501(C)3. The league was founded by Rich and John Stanislaw and is currently managed by Joe Albright. The league offers various options for play, including a summer, fall, and indoor winter league, as well as a traveling team that competes in the Eastern Pennsylvania Senior League. The summer league features doubleheaders every Tuesday and Thursday, starting at 9:30 AM and ending around noon or 12:30 PM, from early April to mid-August. Similarly, the fall league plays doubleheaders on Tuesdays and Thursdays in September and October. The winter indoor league plays single games on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the first week of January to the last week in March at the indoor Exeter Fieldhouse in Exeter Township. The traveling team plays on Friday mornings.
