The Boston Metro Baseball League (BMBL) is the largest amateur baseball league in New England. The BMBL currently consists of 42 teams across four divisions (18+, 28+ Boston, 28+ MetroWest, and 38+ Masters), satisfying the needs of amateur baseball players of all ages in and around the Boston area.
18+ Division
Currently, 10 teams compete in a 24-game regular-season schedule, typically played on Sunday, in addition to 5-8 weeknight games per season. Teams play primarily in and around Boston, with players residing all over eastern Massachusetts, some as far north as New Hampshire, as far south as Rhode Island, and as far west as Worcester. The regular season normally begins in late April with playoffs ending in late-September/early-October. Wood bats only are permitted.
28+ Boston Division
Currently, 13 teams compete in a 22-game regular-season schedule, typically played on Sunday, Wednesday, or Thursday. The regular season usually begins in late April with playoffs ending in late-September. Teams play on both Suburban and Boston fields, yet most players reside in the eastern Massachusetts area. Wood bats only are permitted. 28+ MetroWest Division
Currently, 8 teams compete in an 18-game regular-season schedule, typically played on Sunday mornings in the MetroWest region of Boston, near or west of Route 495. The regular season usually begins in mid to late April with playoffs running until mid-September.
38+ Masters Division
Currently, 11 teams compete in an 18-game regular-season schedule, typically played on Monday nights. The regular season usually begins in late April with playoffs running until early October.
How can I join the BMBL?
If you are a new or former player looking to join a team, please click here to sign up. Your information will be made available to all of the team managers in the age division(s) you selected. If interested, most managers will invite you to practice or tryout with the team before officially offering you a roster spot. Every player is a free agent and can opt to play for any team that contacts them. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that all new players will be contacted.
