Profile
The Chicago North Men’s Senior Baseball League has been in existence for 36 years and has now grown to include six age brackets; 24 and over, 32 and over, 42 and over and 52 and over, 60 and over and 65 and over. Players come from all walks of life, and from all over the Chicagoland area. They also have a wide range of baseball backgrounds; some guys played college and minor league ball, while others joined us straight from the softball field or after a 20+ year layoff with nothing but a youth league background. Many players also choose to play on multiple teams (though only one team per division.)
We play using Major League Baseball rules and also have added other rules for increased safety to all players.
Each age division plays 22-30 regular season games from April to September, followed by playoffs. Also, the 6 divisions each play on specific days/nights which allows players to be better able to plan around their baseball schedule and avoid conflicts. The 24 division plays most games on Monday and Friday nights with an occasional game on Wednesday night; the 32’s play on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Sundays; the 42’s play Wednesday (occasionally on Tues or Thurs) nights and Sundays; the 52’s play mostly on Saturdays plus random weeknights; the 60’s play mostly on Mondays or Tuesdays, Friday and on Sunday morning; and the 65’s will tentatively play on Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday afternoons. Most night games are scheduled at 6:00 and 8:30 PM.
Virtually all games are played at the following fields: Redmond Park in Bensenville, Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, Heritage Park Fields 1,2 & 3 (artificial turf fields) in Wheeling , West Community Park Colt Field in Glenview and Recreation Park in Arlington Heights.
