Welcome to the website for the DC Gay Flag Football League (DCGFFL), DC’s premier LGBTQ+ flag football league. The DCGFFL started informally in 1994 and became an official league in 2010. Since its early beginnings, the league has grown to over 200 players and has fielded as many as 20 teams in a season! We’re a fun community of athletes, allies, family, and friends, and we hope you’ll join and get to know us!
We welcome all levels, from brand new to veteran footballer. If you’re a rookie, your captain and quarterback will work with you to learn the rules and develop your skills. If you’re a football all star, you’ll find a competitive atmosphere with a lot of other talented players that will challenge you to play your best.
We welcome all participants, allies and LBGTQ+ community members alike, and we do not ask players to self-identify.
League Teams
The DCGFFL features two divisions: The Open Division and the Women’s+ Division. Both divisions are welcoming to individuals of all skill levels, from seasoned players to those new to football. Furthermore, it provides a fellowship for both LGBTQ+ individuals and straight allies alike. We invite you to attend our games, meet incredible individuals, and contemplate becoming a part of our team as a player!
