Profile
The San Francisco Fog Rugby Football Club is the oldest gay & inclusive rugby club in the western United States. Established in 2000, the Fog welcomes all players, regardless of rugby experience, gender, or sexual orientation. Our league team is a Division III men’s team with the Northern California Rugby Football Union, comprised of 11 teams from the Central Coast, the Bay Area, Northern California, and Reno, Nevada. The Fog is a member of International Gay Rugby (IGR) and is the founding team of the Bingham Cup, IGR’s biannual world cup for gay rugby.
Anyone is welcome at our team practices, and coming to practice is one of the best ways to get a feel for rugby and meet your new team. Even if you just want to come out for a good workout, you’re welcome with the Fog.
New to rugby? Want to find out what rugby is all about? We run a six-week Pathway to Rugby session at the end of the summer before the preseason practices begin. This is a great way for new players to learn the fundamentals of rugby.
