Established in 1979, the Greater Memphis Soccer Association (GMSA) stands as a titan in the adult soccer community, not just in Memphis but across the Mid-South region. Boasting a membership of over 1,100 enthusiastic men and women, GMSA caters to a diverse range of ages and abilities, making it the go-to league for soccer aficionados.
Seasonal Play:
Each season, GMSA comes alive with 60-75 teams competing across various divisions. Whether you’re a seasoned player or someone looking to rekindle your love for the game, there’s a place for you here.
League Structure:
– Skill-Based Divisions: Our unique 11v11 divisions are skill-based rather than age-based, offering a dynamic range of play for all.
– Men’s Divisions (11v11): From the highly competitive Premier Division, frequented by ex-club and college stars, to the more recreational Fourth Division, we offer five distinct levels of play. Games are scheduled on Sunday afternoons/evenings and Thursday evenings.
– Coed Divisions (11v11):Launched in 1993, our Coed League has expanded from four to up to 20 teams. Divisions are skill-tiered, ensuring a competitive yet fun environment for all. Matches are held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
– Men’s “Legends” Divisions (7v7 Over-35): Introduced in 2011, this division offers a more relaxed pace for the over-35 crowd, with games played on Monday nights.
– **Women’s Division (11v11):** Although currently on hiatus, our Women’s Division has a rich history of competitive play, featuring a mix of ex-college, ex-club, and recreational players.
