KCIC Adult Hockey League General Information
KCIC offers several different adult hockey leagues, based on a players skill level.
A/B League – skaters in this league played at a high level growing up. It includes former college players. Typically these games are played during the week.
Bob Klem League – skaters in this league played travel hockey and high school. There’s a wide range of skill levels in our largest league. The Gold division is for the top players, while Silver is the middle tier and Bronze is the third level. This league plays games primarily on Sundays.
D League – skaters in this league are fairly new to the sport and are still learning the game. This league plays primarily during the week, primarily on Mondays.
Z League – skaters in this league are brand new and have recently started playing the game. This league plays mostly on Thursday nights.
45+ League – skaters in this league are high skill level and have played college hockey. This league plays during the week, primarily on Tuesdays.
50+ League – skaters in this league are veterans who have been playing the game since they were kids. Competition is fairly even and is age-based. This league plays primarily on Sundays.
Note – new player are always welcome! Our mission statement is pretty basic – find teams for players who want to play.
Similar to the NFL, parity is important for our adult leagues at KCIC.
Each year, most of the players (in all of our leagues) continue to improve. More ice time equals better skills. This presents a challenge for our league directors, who are kind of like the teams general manager. It’s easy to spot the best players on the ice in any league.
In order to maintain the competitive balance, a team or teams, could be switched out of the division they are in – to a higher league.
