Profile
The LA Chill is a non-profit, Los Angeles-based women’s ice hockey travel club, dedicated to promoting women’s hockey. We are a group that prioritizes fun, camaraderie, and individual and team development. We participate in 2-3 tournaments every year. Since our inception in 1987, we have traveled to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Nova Scotia, Niagara Falls, Alaska, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, and San Diego. We won a few and had fun at all!
Tournaments: Tournaments are decided and organized by Chill Board members who are willing to take the time and energy to arrange a team. All tournament suggestions are welcome! We typically go to Las Vegas in January, somewhere in Canada, Alaska or other interesting locations in the Spring, and Phoenix in May. We also participate in local tournaments, and play a few games with USC Women’s Hockey Club in their Fall/Spring semesters. Team Captain makes a roster based on players’ availability and positions they play.
Practices: We hold practices as often as we can find ice time, which is a difficult thing to find! We do our best to hold practices in a central LA location, although we occasionally practice in Lakewood or San Fernando Valley.
The Chill currently has an “open” roster. That means that we do not hold try-outs or restrict our roster. All are invited to join. Team Captain makes a roster based on players’ availability and positions they play. Contact the Team Captain if you want to play!
