ADULT HOCKEY
The Adult League at MIHA is for the more competitive and skilled players. Players who wish to play need to register for the draft, which will be held before the season starts.
There is a player cap of 9 players per team, meaning that not all potential players registered for the draft will be drafted and placed on a team. The fall-through players will be placed in the Rec League if they wish to play.
The MIHA Registration fee is for the season or full year. This fee is used to cover the cost of the league, setup, and miscellaneous costs during the season. All MIHA registrants are eligible for pick-up sessions during the season and during the off-season.
There are usually 4 teams in the adult league that play a rotating schedule, typically lasting 12 weeks in duration. Each team will play each other team 4 times, but because of the level of play and the small pool of available players, each team will play with rotating goalies. To balance the schedule as much as possible, each team will shoot at each goalie 3 times and have each goalie for 3 games.
REC/MIXED HOCKEY
The Rec/Mixed League is meant to capture the older age youth players, as well as adult players of all skill levels. The more advanced players are there to support and help newer players. The league usually consists of 4 teams. The schedule usually runs about 12 weeks in duration, in which each team plays each other team 4 times.
