Why MOKAN? Why Flag Football? Why now and why the new league?
MOKAN the name can be traced back to the roots of a Missouri versus Kansas rivalry many would tell you it’s an annual game played in HS that features the best of the best. What the league represents is Missouri and Kansas joining forces to create the ultimate experience for youth and adults in the ever-growing flag football community. MOKAN represents the best of the best in flag football talent in the Kansas City area.
Flag football is universal. It is fast-paced and the fastest growing sport in the nation. With leagues from recreation to pro this sport is an everlasting testament to the love of football. It can be played from age 5 to age 50 or 60 (depending on how good of shape you are in and commitment). Flag football gives mothers and dads the knowledge of football without the physicality at a young age along with the preparation for many youth and HS teams and coaches alike for upcoming seasons. It brings the chemistry without the headache of state associations.
Now is the time. Question, research AFFL, tell us how many teams are in the center of America? None. Zero. So you’re telling me WE are not skilled enough to be on the national stage? You are telling me WE do not have the talent or mindset to compete with the best of the best this nation has to offer? I highly and strongly disagree with that.This is why MOKAN in partnership with KC Turf Zone along with sanctioning from the ever-growing United Flag Football League can bring that competition to us. Showing them we are major players! We can make this the largest sanctioned body league in the midwest!
