Profile
The MFL is a competitive 6-on-6 adult flag football league that believes in playing hard with respect for all players.
We’re open to players of all skill levels and genders, and we strive to make season schedules that ensure all games are balanced and minimize blowouts.
We keep full statistics on our website and have two referees for every game, with 3 for some playoff games.
We welcome complete teams to sign up as well as individual players and small groups. Individuals and groups will be assigned to a team based on their skill level.
About the MFL
The Montreal Flag Football League (MFL) was founded as a place for people who wanted to play the game they love in a friendly but competitive atmosphere with a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Even with our continued growth, we believe we have maintained this attitude within the league, and we expect all players to respect everyone during their games.
Season Info
The MFL has three seasons during the course of a year: spring, fall, and winter. Our spring season begins in May, our fall season starts in August, and our winter season is played from January to March.
In the spring and fall we have two separate leagues. We play outdoors at Le Ber Park in the Sud-Ouest of Montreal on Saturday, and we have a Sunday league in Brossard at Parc Illinois. In the winter, we play indoors at the Concordia Stinger dome in NDG.
Game Info
Outdoor games are 22-minute halves with partial stop time (scores, change of possessions, penalties, and timeouts all stop the clock), which makes games last about 75-90 minutes.
Indoor games are 22-minute running time halves with a final five untimed plays in each half, so games last about 55 minutes.
Our fields are 25 yards wide and 70 yards long (including two 10-yard end zones)
