Profile
The Montrose Softball League Association (MSLA) is dedicated to the promotion of amateur softball for all persons, age 18 and older, regardless of race, creed, religion, sex, or national origin, with special emphasis placed on the participation of members of the LGBTQ+ community of Greater Houston. Our goal is to provide a sports outlet for individuals as a way to meet and interact with like-minded people in the spirit of friendly competition in an environment that promotes good health and fitness. The MSLA is divided into various divisions relative to a player’s skill level and we also encourage the involvement of non-LGBTQ+ and non-playing members to support the many activities and beneficiaries the MSLA supports.
We have between 30 and 40 teams active during our Spring season and have an active non-gay and non-player membership as well. Our league is divided into skill divisions:
- A: Elite Skills and Experience
- B: Highly Skilled and Experienced (5% of our league)
- C: Advanced Skilled Players (20% of our league)
- D: Above Average Skills and Experience (40% of our league)
- E: Limited Skills or Players with No Experience (35% of our league)
- Legends: Players age 50+ of all skill levels
The best way to get involved is to attend one of our Recruitment Days. Bring a glove and non-metal cleats. We’ll provide the rest!
