Profile
In the summer of 1993, Linda Friedlander and Cindy Perret started a 11 v 11 coed adult soccer league as a subdivision of the GNOWSL (Greater New Orleans Woman’s Soccer League). Little did they know it would soon thereafter become the monster that is the NOCS.
In 1994, the blossoming coed movement was made a subdivision of SELASA (Southeast Louisiana Adult Soccer Association, aka: the men’s league). A second season was added the following winter with a new format, 6 v 6.
Eventually, the NOCS became its own entity.
The 11 v 11 summer and 6 v 6 winter seasons continued until the winter of 1996, when Eddie Davidson and Kim Plaisance took charge of the league and added a player per side. The new 7 v 7 formula was also used the following summer. The NOCS, as we know it today, was born.
Games are played at Lafreniere Park in Metairie
