Profile
SCCA is a non-profit organization serving the cricket loving community of Southern California. Boundaries are relevant only on the Cricket field, but the sport transcends the lives of everyone who is passionate about it. The seed of Cricket sown in SoCal in 1930s has grown to be a huge tree with close to 50 teams enjoying this sport every year from March to November.
The team locations and their home grounds range from San Diego to Santa Barbara and to Riverside, but the main hub is at the Woodley Park in Van Nuys, where currently there are 4 top class Cricket grounds with turf wickets maintained by SCCA with a great deal of help from the City. The work on developing the fifth and sixth grounds are in progress.
SCCA provides a mixture of fun and competitiveness through 4 divisions. Division 1 naturally attracts the younger and more competitive players, while Division 4 is of the more relexed atmosphere, but still upholding the rules and spirit of the game. SCCA also supports a great Youth Program to promote the game to the local communities with an aim to nurture the values and ethics of sportsmanship
