About Stonewall Sports SF
Stonewall Sports San Francisco is a volunteer-run non-profit sports league that provides a safe and inclusive community for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies to learn, grow, and connect. We strive to promote player development, community service, and a positive player experience both on and off the field.
Originally started in 2010 in Washington, D.C., Stonewall Sports is one of the largest LGBTQ+ sports non-profits, providing organized recreational adult sports and local fund-raising opportunities nationwide.
This year, Stonewall Sports San Francisco is providing the Bay Area’s first non-profit kickball league.
Our Pitch
FABULOUS!
Players of all skill levels and folks of all backgrounds are invited! People of color, women, transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, persons with disabilities, and folks that are underrepresented in sports and adult recreation are encouraged to register, to captain teams, and to serve on our leadership board.
FUN!
After each game, head to Rumors SF, our sponsor bar offering food and drink, just half a block away from our game venue. The league will also sponsor an opening & closing party, fun themes during the season and other social engagements!
FAIR!
We’re excited to facilitate captains (and social chairs!) to provide their teams with a top-notch experience on and off the field. Games will be officiated by trained, certified umpires. Our diverse, all-volunteer staff is looking forward to helping you level up your game, whether you’re starting from scratch or already an all-star.
AFFORDABLE!
We try to keep costs as low as possible. As a 501c(3) organization, all our fees go directly toward the operation of the league, events for you, or to charity. None of our local or national board members are paid. (We only pay umpires, if they accept payment.) If you cannot afford to pay the full registration fee this season, please contact us and we will work with you so that you can participate in full.
