WE ARE SUNDAY MORNING
On a dark Sunday morning in 1974, four veteran players from a North St. Louis Rugby Club met with Harry Langenberg, a rugby legend who had helped build up several teams around the country. They gathered in Forest Park. The player’s pockets were empty, but Harry was willing to put up the money to start a new club — they named it “Sunday Morning Rugby Club.”
Since that time, Sunday Morning has grown into a defining St. Louis rugby institution. We have made it our mission to honor our beginnings by helping to build the rugby community in St. Louis through donations, rugby youth programs, and assisting other amateur start-up rugby organizations.
Sunday Morning Rugby Club and Team are always looking for enthusiastic members wanting to make a difference in the community! Regardless of whether you have been playing for years or are just wanting to try out a new sport, there is a place for you here! Rugby is known worldwide for its inclusivity and its celebration of diversity. We are no different as these are characteristics that are important to us at SMRFC! All are welcome!
