The Washington DC Gaels GAA is an amateur sports club that promotes Irish sports in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Whether you live in the District, Maryland, or Virginia, we’re happy to have you on the team!
The Gaels have both ladies’ and men’s Gaelic football teams, as well as hurling and camogie teams. Don’t know what those words mean? That’s alright. You can find more about what each of the sports are and how you play them here.
We compete regionally and nationally throughout the summer months, aiming to qualify for the North American Championships.
We are always looking for new players of all skill levels. Doesn’t matter if you’re a lifelong sports addict or have never played one in your life, we’re happy to talk more with you about Gaelic games and the role of the DC Gaels in the local community.
Games and practice begin in spring and continue throughout the summer months, with club social events all year round.
