Profile
Founded in 1985, the Washington DSeahorses is the longest continuously operating water polo team in the U.S. openly welcome to individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. We are a player-driven organization committed to being an active member of Team DC and the greater Washington metro area LGBTQ+ sports community. In the spirit of this tradition, we ask all players to commit a few hours per year to volunteering at practices, tournaments, sporting events, and philanthropic opportunities around the DC area.
The DSeahorses have proudly represented the Washington metro area in national and international competitions. Our competitive experience includes local tournaments in the Washington area as well international tournaments hosted in Paris, Stockholm, Sydney, Miami, Chicago and beyond. Our team is a member of USA Water Polo as well as IGLA, the International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics organization.
In 2020, the Washington DSeahorses adopted our new name after 35 years as the Washington Wetskins. We are proud to continue the rich tradition and history of our team under our new name.
We welcome players of all skill levels, experience, and athletic backgrounds. You must be 18 years older to join.
